Private Western Riding Lessons

I specialize in Adult beginner and amateur female riders who are either interested in riding for fun; or learning to show at the amateur level at breed AQHA or APHA shows; or learning natural horsewomanship and horse training techniques; or are planning on purchasing a horse. All my lesson horses are fully trained, registered, high quality amateur/youth AQHA or Paint APHA show horses. Our tack is top quality Circle Y show and equitation saddles and PNH official gear. No cheap auction horses or junky tack – horses teach riders, it’s important you learn to ride on a horse that knows more than you do!

For the rider who is serious about learning to ride in a safe, fun and natural way without force, fear or gadgets or screaming. Each lesson includes horse psychology, horse care, grooming, saddling as well as riding skills. Private instruction assures you of a safe & fun learning environment – we don’t do useless, boring, nose-to-tail around the ring rides! Handouts, videos and self study courses help you get the most from your riding experience.

At this time I am currently fully booked and not taking any additional students. Please check back in the first week of the new year in January, 2010. Thank you!!

LESSON PROGRAM DETAILS

Riders must be at least 15 years old; in good health, and on no medications that might slow reaction times or inhibit the ability to follow the instructor’s instructions. If you have had knee or hip replacement, back surgery OR have recurrent serious back, knee or hip problems, arthritis in the hands or a compromised grip, I do not recommend riding lessons UNLESS you were an accomplished rider before your injury AND your doctor gives the go ahead. Due to saddle restrictions and horse size, I am unable to accommodate riders over 200 lbs. at this time.
